Opis (srp)

Introduction: Bronchial asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways and for the occurrence of it predisposing factors are responsible such as hereditary load, nonspecific airway hyperresponsiveness and atopy. In the presence of predisposition, numerous risk factors lead to the appearance or worsening of asthma, presenting a sort of triggers. Physical exertion represents a significant risk factor for worsening of existing bronchial asthma because hyperventilation through indirect way activates broncho-constrictor mechanisms. The aim of this study was to determine the influence of nonspecific airway hyperreactivity and atopy on bronchospasmin asthmatics during exertion. Method: The study included a total of 162 patients with the mild form of bronchial asthma and with confirmed nonspecific airway hyperresponsiveness and atopy. Depending on the results after the stress test, or the appearance of exertion-induced bronchospasm (EIB) or its absence, the respondents were divided into two equal experimental groups. Results: The respondents who had a family history of bronchial asthma were more likely to have had bronchospasm during exertion . The degree of nonspecific hyperreactivity and hypersensitivity of the airways expressed through a decline in FEV1 and inhaled histamine concentration was correlated with bronchospasm during exertion. Atopy constitution presented via a skin test to inhalant allergens and total IgE in the serum were in positive correlation with bronchospasm during exertion. Conclusion: A more expressed nonspecific airway hyperresponsiveness and atopic constitution in asthmatics increase airway reactivity during exertion.
