U studiji koja se bavila istraživanjem vaskularnog remodelovanja I endotelne funkcije kod pacijenata sa reumatoidnim artritisom uključeno je 52 pacijenta sa reumatoidnim artritisom i kontrolna grupa od 20 zdravix ispitanika. Svim ispitanicima je urađeno ultrazvučno merenje debljine zida karotidne arterije kao i ultrazvučno merenje endotel –zavisne vazodilatacije brahijalne arterije. Kao marker subkliničke ateroskleroze, debljina zida karotidne arterije i endotel-zavisna vazodilatacija brahijalne arterije kao marker endotelne disfunkcije pokazuju da je u reumatoidnom artritisu povećan rizik za kardiovaskularna oboljevanja. U istraživanju je ispitivana i uloga fon Vilebrandovog faktora, parametara oksidativnog stresa i zapaljenja, kao i indeks aktivnosti bolesti kao faktora rizika za razvoj ateroskleroze kod pacijenata sa reumatoidnim artritisom. Rezultati ove studije ukazuju na potrebu za dijagnostikom I monitorinogom rane ateroskleroze kod pacijenata sa reumatoidnim artritisom.

In a study that dealt with the study of vascular remodeling and endothelial function in patients with rheumatoid arthritis included 52 patients with rheumatoid arthritis and a control group of 20 healthy subjects. In all groups was done by ultrasound measurement of carotid artery wall and the ultrasound measurement endothelium-dependent vasodilation of brachial artery.As a marker of subclinical atherosclerosis, carotid artery wall thickness and endothelium-dependent vasodilation of brachial artery as a marker of endothelial dysfunction showed that in rheumatoid arthritis at increased risk for cardiovascular disease. The study examined the role of von Willebrand factorсs, oxidative stress and inflammation, as well as the index of activity of disease as risk factors for atherosclerosis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The results of this study suggest the need for diagnosis and monitorinog early atherosclerosis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis
