Opis (srp)

Studija će obuhvatiti 21 uzorak u grupi slučajeva i 41 uzorak u grupi kontrola.

The subject of this research is the evaluation of the role of cytohistological factors that contributeto the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. The research will include the characteristics of differentstages of atherosclerosis, cytohistological and immunohistochemical analysis of atheroscleroticchanges, as well as determining the possible association of other factors with the clinical pictureof patients.A retrospective clinical-histopathological case-control study has been planned. The study willinclude 21 samples in the case group and 41 samples in the control group. The case groupconsists of samples of coronary arteries of deceased persons with advanced types ofatherosclerosis. The control group consists of samples of coronary arteries of deceased personswith early lesions of atherosclerosis. The study will analyze the cytohistological characteristics of the stage of atherosclerosisaccording to the classification of the American Heart Association Committee on Vascular Lesionsof the Council of Atherosclerosis, immunohistochemical characteristics by using fourimmunohistochemical markers - α-smooth muscle actin, S-100 protein, desmin and vimentin, aswell as a larger number of variables obtained from medical histories. The determination of the most significant cytohistological factors that lead to the progression ofcoronary artery atherosclerosis is expected to be the most important result of this study. Inaddition, the results of the immunohistochemical analysis in this study could indicate theassociation between the clinical picture of coronary disease and its cytohistologicalcharacteristics, that is, the stage of atherosclerosis.
