Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) stands out as one of the leading business concepts ofnowadays. PLM has provided a paradigm that has enabled the establishment of sustainablegrowth in business performance under the condition of global networking, increasinglyshorter product lifecycles, and refocusing on strategies of rapid response to interest groupdemands.Notwithstanding the strengthening of PLM initiatives across various industries, companiesstill struggle to implement and mature PLM. These challenges frequently arise from anabsence of systematic methods to map latent needs, along with a tendency to overlook theprioritization of implementation efforts, resulting in difficulties aligning the PLMcompetency development model with specific business needs. In practice, this issue isfrequently simplified to predicting the effects on economic productivity and operationalefficiency indicators while neglecting all relevant factors essential for a properunderstanding of business needs and particular contexts.Within this thesis, a methodological framework was developed to support theimplementation of PLM based on a process-oriented paradigm and the principles of iterativeand incremental development. As the major methodological improvement over previouslyestablished ones, the framework introduces an integral multi-criteria model for optimizingthe PLM implementation process, based on ex-ante evaluation aimed at determining therelative priority of specific areas of PLM competency development.Combining essential aspects of evaluation to establish a unified and multidimensionalframework, the model integrates 1) a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) model forimplementation costs prediction; 2) a project implementation risk analysis model; 3) aproject implementation complexity analysis model; 4) a Balanced Scorecard (BSC)-basedmodel for evaluating the PLM strategic contributions; and 5) a model for predicting theimpact of PLM on new product development organizational capabilities. The model aims toprovide a comprehensive approach that considers all relevant aspects essential for a properunderstanding of business needs, broader business circumstances, and the constraints arisingfrom them, taking into account the industry requirements to guide PLM strategy towardenhancing the innovation potential of the business production system.The proposed evaluation methodology uses Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM)methods, including the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and the MULTIplicative form ofMulti-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MULTIMOORA) method with animproved Borda rule and Quality Function Deployment (QFD) analysis, whose conventionalconcepts are extended by Interval Type-2 Fuzzy (IT2F) sets.
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) predstavlja jedan od vodećih poslovnihkoncepata današnjice. PLM je zapravo pružio paradigmu na osnovu koje je u uslovimaglobalnog umrežavanja, sve kraćeg životnog ciklusa proizvoda i refokusiranja nastrategije brzog odgovora na zahteve interesnih grupa, bilo moguće uspostavitiodrživi rast poslovnih performansi.Uprkos jačanju PLM inicijative u mnogim industrijama, preduzeća se i daljesuočavaju sa problemom otežanog usvajanja i sazrevanja u njegovoj primeni, što senajčešće vezuje za nedostatak metodoloških pristupa koji bi im pomogli damapiraju latentne potrebe, dok se pitanje procene prioriteta implementacionihnapora zanemaruje, zbog čega najčešće nisu u stanju da usklade model razvoja PLMkompetencija sa specifičnim poslovnim potrebama. U praksi se ovo pitanjenajčešće svodi na predikciju uticaja na pokazatelje ekonomske produktivnosti ioperativne efikasnosti, pri čemu se ne uzimaju u obzir svi relevantni aspekti zapravilno razumevanje poslovnih potreba i specifičnih poslovnih okolnosti.U disertaciji je razvijen metodološki okvir implementacije PLM-a zasnovan naprocesno orijentisanoj paradigmi i principima iterativnog i inkrementalnograzvoja. Kao najznačajnije metodološko unapređenje u odnosu na prethodnoustanovljene, okvir uvodi integralni višekriterijumski model optimizacijeprocesa implementacije PLM-a, zasnovan na ex-ante evaluaciji u cilju utvrđivanjarelativnog prioriteta specifičnih područja razvoja PLM kompetencija.Kombinujući ključne elemente evaluacije u cilju stvaranja jedinstvenog ivišedimenzionalnog okvira model integriše 1) Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modelpredikcije troškova implementacije; 2) model analize rizika i 3) model analizesloženosti projekata implementacije; 4) Balanced Scorecard (BSC) zasnovan modelevaluacije strateških doprinosa PLM-a; 5) model za predikciju uticaja PLM-a naorganizacione sposobnosti razvoja novih proizvoda. Cilj razvijenih modela jepruže holistički pristup koji razmatra sve relevantne aspekte neophodne zapravilno razumevanje poslovnih potreba, širih poslovnih okolnosti i ograničenjakoja iz njih proističu, uzimajući u obzir potrebe industrije za usmeravanjem PLMstrategije u pravcu osnaživanja inovacionih potencijala poslovno proizvodnogsistema.Predložena metodologija evaluacije koristi metode višekriterijumskogodlučivanja, uključujući Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) i MULTIplicative form ofMulti-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis (MULTIMOORA) metodu sa unapređenimBorda pravilom i Quality Function Deployment (QFD) analizu, čiji sukonvencionalni koncepti prošireni Interval Type-2 Fuzzy (IT2F) skupovima.
